A 175 day school year?
I attended another school board meeting tonight and was shocked to find that the Shoreline School District is in the final year of its 175 school day calendar waiver. I’ve never actually counted the days, but I assumed that we were in school 180 days, just like everybody else. Is this because of budget constraints? Is the general public aware of this? I didn’t have my wits about me enough to get any answers (I was too stunned), but I will follow-up and report.

Are you kidding? What in the world would give them reason to have a calendar waiver? Whatever it is, it has to be a big problem cause those waivers are not handed out easily.
School board meetings can be very interesting….
