A 175 day school year?
I attended another school board meeting tonight and was shocked to find that the Shoreline School District is in the final year of its 175 school day calendar waiver. I've never actually counted the days, but I assumed that we were in school 180 days, just like everybody else. Is this because of budget constraints? Is the general public aware of this? I didn't have my wits about me enough to get any answers (I was too stunned), but I will follow-up and report.
